This Leif Erikson statue stands tall in a Nordic neighborhood. Some non-Seattle Scandinavians object that he is facing west, toward the Pacific Ocean. They must think he is the actual guy, not a symbolic statue.

My mission here is to paint an accurate picture of Seattle as seen through the eyes of a Chicagoan, but without using paint. The worst career advice ever quoted was uttered by that overrated, overpaid, celebrity photographer, Annie Leibovitz. She said, "You will always be judged by your last photograph." This philosophy castrates creativity and risk taking. Paul McCartney will most likely always be judged by "Yesterday" rather than by the song he wrote yesterday. -Steve
