This lonely stack of phone books has been sitting at my building's entrance for a week, untouched. With free 411 service on our cell phones, and our computers armed with www.switchboard and Google to find a name or business in any city, who fusses with these anymore?

I miss the old days when there was just one Phone Book and it had all the numbers you needed. After the phone book business got deregulated along with everything else it became more of a crap-shoot and often a waste of time to look up a number. Hey, I didn't know that cell phone 411 was free...that is good!
Hey Taylor. Yes, 1(800) FREE411 which is really 1(800)373-3411 but they make you listen to brief commercials.
